| Designed to quietly ventilate mid-sized cabinets, our System 2 family of products is comprised of four distinct products:
1. The Original System 2
2. The System 2 Kit and the 2+2 Kit
4. The Rack-Mount
All System 2 products feature proportional speed control which sets the speed of fan rotation in proportion to temperature rise. This feature relieves the system designer of creating controls to compensate for different heat levels. Here’s how they work: As the equipment warms, the fans begin to turn at about 1/3 speed, smoothly increasing to 2/3 of full speed if the equipment temperature rises further. When the equipment is turned off, fan speed slows as temperature falls. When room temperature is reached, the fans automatically shut off.
The differences among the various System 2 family of products are in their physical configurations. The original System 2 has fans and drive electronics pre-assembled to a mounting plate.
System 2 and 2+2 kits consist of “separates” with 2 or 4 fans, drive electronics, power supply and thermistors that sense and respond to equipment temperature. The Rack Mount version has 3 fans and can be mounted in the front or rear of a rack for front-to-back ventilation.
